What instrument is used to test the particulate filtration efficiency of medical protective clothing

Medical protective clothing refers to the protective clothing used by medical personnel (doctors, nurses, public health personnel, cleaning personnel, etc.) and people entering specific medical and health areas (such as patients, hospital visitors, personnel entering infected areas, etc.). According to the purpose and use occasion, it can be divided into daily work clothes, surgical clothes, isolation gowns and protective clothing.

The role of medical protective clothing is to isolate germs, harmful ultrafine dust, acid and alkaline solutions, electromagnetic radiation, etc., to ensure the safety of personnel and keep the environment clean.

What is particulate filtration efficiency?

The Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE) test evaluates the nonviable particle retention or filtration efficiency of filter media and other filtration devices at sub-micron levels. This test is performed on face masks and all filter material that allows 1 cubic foot per minute (CFM) flow to pass through it.

GB 19082-2009 Medical disposable protective clothing technical requirements stipulate that the physical performance test items of medical protective clothing include water permeability, moisture permeability, synthetic blood penetration resistance, surface moisture resistance, breaking strength, elongation at break, particulate filtration efficiency, flame retardant performance, antistatic performance, static attenuation performance, etc.

Horizontester briefly introduces the particle filtration efficiency test instrument and filtration efficiency detection method of medical protective clothing.

A: What instrument is used to test the particulate filtration efficiency of medical protective clothing?

Horizontester implements the GB 19082-2009 technical requirements for medical disposable protective clothing and other standards to develop and produce protective clothing particulate filtration efficiency tester PFT-02, which is suitable for testing the efficiency of particles in daily work clothes, surgical gowns, isolation gowns and protective clothing.

B: Testing method of medical protective clothing

     1.  At least 3 samples of protective clothing should be tested, and the results should be consistent with the filtration efficiency of the key parts of the protective clothing and the joints for non-oily particles should not be less than 70%.

      2. Sodium chloride aerosol or similar solid aerosol in an environment with a relative humidity of 30%±10% and a temperature of 25°C±5°C should be used [particle median diameter (CMD): 0.075um±0.020um; Geometric standard deviation of particle distribution: ≤1.6; Concentration: ≤200mg/m3] for testing. The air flow rate is set to 15L/min±2L/min, and the cross-sectional area through which the air flows is 100cm2.

Horizontester is committed to the development and production of medical protective clothing and medical glove testing instruments, there are other detective machines for protective clothing, such as HST-01 Hydrostatic Pressure Tester (used for the water permeability test items of protective clothing), water vapor transmission rate tester (used for water vapor permeability testing of medical protective clothing), synthetic blood penetration tester for medical protective clothing ( Used for synthetic blood penetration test of protective clothing, TST-02H intelligent electronic tensile testing machine (used for breaking strength and elongation test of medical protective clothing), FRT-01 flame retardant tester for protective clothing (applicable to Flame retardant performance test of protective clothing) and GC-6890/GC-7800 gas chromatograph (user ethylene oxide residue detection), if you have any requirements, please contact horizontester.
